Poignant. Touching. Humorous. Lonesome. Friendship. Family. Embarrassment. Pride. Hope. These are the words that came to me as I read. Catherine meets Jason while waiting for her own brother to finish his occupational therapy. Catherine is the sister of an autistic boy, and though she loves him and tries to help him by making a list of rules for him to remember and follow (“chew with your mouth closed,” “no toys in the fish tank”), she’s sometimes frustred and embarrassed by him, especially when she wants badly to make friends with the new girl who moved in next door.
